Part of Kerry's role as Church Community Worker is to support existing groups within the building. This could be with recruiting helpers or members, or assisting them with events or to undertake training. Kerry has worked or volunteered in and with community groups in Sheffield in various ways for 18 years.
Trinity and the community
Trinity committed to the Community Worker role to enable it to maintain its links with local organisations and it commits to working with other community groups as often as is possible.
Joint working is done with Trinity via Hillsborough Forum, the S6 Youth Network, local lunch clubs, Voluntary Action Sheffield, Shooters Grove Children's Centre and Hillsborough Churches on the free annual Fun Day event,
Another aspect of the Church Community Worker role is to support the development of new groups in response to local needs.
Trinity is in a state of transformation following about three years of changes. The church space was redeveloped and completed just as I started here in October 2014. While the space is different to before, it is still such a beautiful worship space.
Phase two is almost complete and we are due to embark on phase three very soon.
The Community Worker role involves looking after some aspects of day to day happenings here at Trinity.
